How did you get started in content distribution?

After working many years with major studios, I started to notice that many indie filmmakers, and even some larger distributors, were feeling in the dark around different options for getting their content live. As an independent film producer myself, I was interested in helping to spread the word about Aggregation and other options that ensure every film or series has a chance to be seen and monetized.

What attracted you to this new role with Giant Worldwide?

I was very excited to learn about the automation and end-to-end catalogue management capabilities within Matchpoint. Paired with the various service offerings between Cineverse, Giant and IndiCue, there's the recipe for a true one stop shop. Scalability is a huge challenge within our industry, so the fact that Cineverse/Giant has been prioritizing a solution was very appealing to me.

What challenges does the new Aggregation service solve for content owners?

As the industry continues to change, it's important that rights holders have multiple options for getting their content live and harvesting their catalogues. In the scenario where a direct deal is not possible, or traditional distribution is not a fit, Aggregation helps ensure films and series can get live and be seen. No one wants their projects or acquired titles collecting dust!

What opportunities do you see for Aggregation as the industry evolves?

As we all work to keep our eye on where the industry puck is going next, Aggregation can provide a safety net. It benefits the platforms and the rightsholders in helping to streamline processes and submissions. Given the nature of the pass-through terms, it allows for flexibility in an ever-changing environment. If we can communicate and be strategic, I see Aggregation as a rapidly evolving solution!
